Kurt is Associate Principal of Page, Houston, TX. He received his Master of Architecture from Arizona State University and his Bachelor of Science Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois and has been responsible for programming and planning more than six million square feet of hospital, ambulatory, psychiatric and medical office building space. He has provided pre-design services for a multitude of healthcare and educational building types worldwide and is accomplished in a wide variety of analytical, decision-making and facilitating techniques.
Chairman Elect - Doug Heisler, EFHFI
Doug is involved in healthcare business development and works with senior management in the pursuit of hospitals, clinics, and medical office buildings. With over 40 years in managing the development of healthcare facilities, he assists with developing strategies for the growth and expansion of Wehr Constructors’ Construction Management services for healthcare. Doug’s background involves the development of over 4,000 projects of both international and domestic healthcare projects that included urban and rural new hospitals as well as complex renovations and expansions. This expertise allows Doug to assist Wehr’s healthcare project managers in developing solutions to the myriad of ongoing problems with development of complicated healthcare projects.
Robert Farrow, AIA, LEED AP, FHFI, is Principal & Senior Vice President and Director of Healthcare, Southeast Region of HKS Architects, Atlanta, GA. He received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Auburn University and has 37 years experience in facility master planning, design, and construction in both the private and government arena. His design portfolio includes ambulatory care centers, community hospitals, large complex teaching hospitals and research facilities, corporate office/manufacturing facilities, and office/retail/mixed use developments. Ron Deike, MBA, FHFI, is the Facilities Department Head at Navy Medicine East. He has Over 30 years of medical healthcare project management experience as a Medical Construction Liaison Officer (MCLO), Facilities Planning and Projects Officer (HFPPO) and senior project manager with projects ranging from small, medium and large medical outpatient clinics to tertiary care facilities. E. Douglas McClain, PE, Emeritus Fellow, is the Vice President of Business Development for the Health Facility Institute. Doug has over 46 years of experience in facility programming, planning, design, construction, and project management of healthcare facilities. He is a retired Lt. Colonel, USAF Medical Service Corps and recently retired his position as Executive Vice President with PageSoutherlandPage, Austin, TX. Doug's background includes a working knowledge of the development and application of procedures and details for facility planning, the architectural and engineering design including CADD production, and the documentation and communications requirements involved in the successful acquisition of complex healthcare facilities. Robert E. Bridges, EA, EFHFI has 33 years of strong performance in owner representation and consulting in healthcare facility development programs. He held multiple positions with the Health Facilities Division, Surgeon General's Office, Department of the Air Force which supports the design and construction activities for a world-wide system of 230 hospitals, clinics, and healthcare research facilities. Bob retired from the Air Force in 2005 and later joined RTKL Associates as Development Director, Federal Healthcare Programs until his retirement in 2012.
