Positions are located in VA’s Office of Construction & Facilities Management (CFM). Applicants must have at least three years of relevant experience as a General Engineer or Architect.
Specific activities involve new construction, renovation, and modernization of VA facilities throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. You will work as part of a team that provides project planning services for proposed major construction projects (over $10 million). You will also contribute to the development of solutions to facilities’ program and space shortages, identification of site locations, and recognition of conditions that may impact on a construction project. Travel is required. VA offers excellent pay, benefits, and job opportunities throughout the Nation. Starting salaries are at the GS-12 or GS-13 grade level with a range of $67,000 - $79,000 depending on experience, academic credentials, and geographic location. These positions have promotion potential to the GS-14 level. A GS-14 salary is approximately $94,000 and will vary by geographic location. Primary Purpose Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Facilities, this individual will work in close collaboration with the SVP to plan, organize, coordinate, evaluate, direct and monitor activities of the departments in the Facilities Division associated with long-range planning and development of facilities. This will include master planning, facility renovation and new construction, utilities selection and operation, sustainability programs and site work projects.
Minimum Specifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Architecture or Planning.
- Experience: 15+ years of related facilities management and/or non-clinical facilities support services; 10+ years in a supervisory with 5+ years at the Director level.
- Certification: Must be LEED accredited and qualifying engineers and architects must be licensed with active professional registration and eligible for licensure in state of Texas.
